Editing the timeline
Use the Timeline to navigate your video's sections and modules.
The Timeline is a visual map of your video. It shows your sections in order. Use it to move around, pick what to edit, and preview your work.
What you'll see
- A ruler across the top with time markers.
- Modules: the sections of your video, shown as bars you can open.
- Layers: the text and media inside a module, once you expand it.
- Colored bars above each section that show render status.
Move around
Drag the playhead (the vertical line) to scrub to any point, or click the ruler to jump there. Click a module bar to open it and load its layers into the editor. Click it again to collapse it.
Read the status bars
- Green: that section is rendered and ready to play.
- Yellow: a preview is rendering.
- Red: your change needs a fresh preview.
- Blue: you're viewing a rendered clip on the canvas.
Zoom
Use Fit to see the whole video, the plus and minus buttons to zoom, or hold Option and scroll. Double-click the ruler to reset.
