Introducing Our Public Roadmap
It’s hard to plan a season around a tool when you can’t see where it’s headed. If a feature you need is two weeks out, you want to know that before you build a workaround.
So we put our plans in public. The SportStudio roadmap shows what we’re working on, what’s next, and what we’ve already shipped.
Three columns
The roadmap is split by status:
- In Progress is what the team is building right now.
- On Our Radar is the set of ideas we’re exploring next. It’s not a promise. It’s what we’re weighing, and we want to hear which of those ideas matter to your program.
- Shipped is everything that’s out and ready to use.
Some in-progress items are bigger than one feature, like a new template package. Those show a progress bar and the list of pieces, so you can see which parts are done and which one we’re on.
The top of the page gives you the counts for each column and the latest release, so a quick glance tells you what changed.
Everything we’ve shipped
Shipped work gets two views. A timeline lets you step through releases one at a time. Below it, a release log lists every release by month, with its date and a short description.
The log can be filtered by category: Platform, Rendering or Templates. If you only care about what’s changed in rendering, you can see just that.
Tell us what’s missing
The roadmap isn’t only ours to write. Under On Our Radar, and again at the bottom of the page, there’s a link to suggest an idea. It sends us an email. The most useful ideas tell us what you’re trying to do on gameday and where SportStudio gets in the way.
Kept current by default
Behind the scenes, the whole roadmap is one small data file that feeds the page directly. Nothing has to be redesigned to add an item, so marking something shipped is a quick edit we can make the day the work goes out.
Bigger releases also get a write-up here on the blog, with the details that don’t fit in a two-line entry.
